We take pride in providing your child with the opportunity to experience and learn about technology, and we appreciate you for understanding the importance as well. In order to better serve and teach our students, we have transitioned to one-on-one and small group (2-4 students) sessions. CODING FOR GAME DESIGN (Scratch) ~ Mondays @ 4pm ~ grades K-5 ~ REGISTER
Turn your child’s passion for playing games into creating games. The Game Design session will focus on building programming concepts and skills using a visual programming platform with drag and drop features. Kids will understand the objectives for all programming which includes creating variables, using if-then and if-else statements, terminology, and other commands. The final project will consist of a unique game design that includes multiple characters and scenes. Students will be excited to share and play their very own game with friends.
ROBOTICS (LEGO Mindstorm EV3) ~ Mondays @ 4pm ~ grades 3-8 ~ REGISTER
For this course, kids will develop the skills of a Robotics Engineer. They will use their creativity to design, build, and program the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robot. The students will learn the basic functions of the robot and program basic movements. With progress, they will work in teams to complete more challenging activities, which will include programming the 4 sensors (ultrasonic, gyro, touch, and color), allowing the robot to respond to different variables in its setting. Students will learn problem solving and critical thinking skills through trial and error experimentation and testing their programs. The final project will consist of the students programming the robot to use at least 2 of the 4 sensors in an autonomous setting.
FILM & PHOTOGRAPHY (ADOBE) ~ Thursdays @ 4pm ~ grades 3-8 ~ REGISTER
Whether your child likes to be in front of the camera or not, they will enjoy bringing their creative expressions to life through Film and Photography. Kids will learn how to operate the camera for film vs. photography, as well as learn the features and components of the camera. They will collaborate to develop a storyline, and begin to understand the pre-production, production, and post-production processes, including imagery, lighting, and editing. The final project will consist of a compilation of the student’s work as a short film or PSA that will include graphics and photographs.
CODING FOR WEB DESIGN (HTML) ~ Thursdays @ 5pm ~ grades 5-8 ~ REGISTER
The basis of this course is Coding! Kids love to code because they love to use their inner techie to express and create. The Web Design session will focus on the programming language HTML and may incorporate other programming languages such as Java and CSS. Although no prior programming experience is required, kids must be able to use critical-thinking and problem-solving skills in order to experience authentic coding. The learning points include tags, styling, links, adding video and photos, terminology, and more. The final project will consist of a personal website for each student in which they have designed from the ground up.

It is our ultimate desire that this experience will support your family’s educational goals and promote academic excellence. Academic assistance and tutoring will cover the four main subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts), but will incorporate developing Reading skills as well.
